Mayra Moreno is an American Anchor/Reporter working with the ABC13/KTRK-TV as an Evening Anchor since joining the station in October of 2015. Prior to her return to her hometown, she was working for the KENS 5 located in San Antonio where she was working as a weekend anchor and reporter for about four years.

Later on, after a few years, she moved to her hometown in Houston where she was working as a fill-in anchor and as a reporter for the KIAH-TV’s CW 39 News.
In her career, she has been to cover many notable stories. While working at the CW, she was among the many journalists to report live from Fort Hood after the deadly 2009 shooting. While in San Antonio, she was lucky to be nominated for a Lone Star Emmy while on an investigation into the city’s DWI on a no refusal program, where blood samples began piling up and caused a backlog at the courts. Additionally, she also covered some of the major weather-related events which range from the tornado that tore through Acuna, MX later that year to the deadly Memorial Day floods of 2013 and 2015 in the San Antonio area.
Moreno is happy to make a return to her home in Houston. She is highly involved in the Hispanic community. Away from work and doing talks at local schools on the importance of staying in school, she enjoys working out, cooking, and spending her free time with her family and friends.
