Erik Barajas is an American Anchor/Reporter working with the ABC13 News team as an anchor since joining the station in March of 2008. Prior to ABC13, he was working with the KSAT 12 News team in San Antonio where he was working as a weekend anchor and reporter for about four years.

Barajas works with the ABC13 team as an anchor since March of 2008. He is basically a true Texas journalist and has been able to work as an anchor and as a reporter all over the United States. Barajas kickstarted his television career working in Corpus Christi in Texas where he was working with the KZTV 10 and was a journalist carrying different and varying roles for the station. Among these roles include working as a producer, photographer, anchor, and reporter.
Additionally, he goes ahead to say that his involvement in all these different positions has gone a long way in helping him get an understanding and perspective of the challenges it takes to produce the news. Later on, he made a move to Austin in Texas where he later joined KTBC Fox 7 being the station’s weekend anchor and reporter.
Among the most notable stories in his career includes coverage of the crash of the space shuttle Columbia on the borders of Texas and Louisiana. He counts it a privilege to have traveled to Louisiana in order to cover the Gulf Oil spill which is in addition to reporting from Austin in Texas where he was covering President Barack Obama’s visit to Kenya.
Barajas states that working in Houston at the KTRK-TV is a “true blessing” and believes he can do what he does for a living which is in front of friends and family. Additionally, he goes ahead to add that Staying in Texas throughout his entire career has so far been eye-opening in terms of getting to know the state on a deeper level and realizing just how diverse the state is.
