Sears anchors and reports for WTVR. She was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, where she fell in love with broadcast reporting at the age of 12 and as she turned 17 she began volunteering at her local news station.
She interned for two years in the White House Press Room, one year at News Channel 8 in the Washington D.C. Market, White House correspondents with news releases, the White House Press Room, and assisting the Clinton Administration while attending George Mason University.
She worked for KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas, as an anchor and reporter for two years, before coming back to Virginia in 2000 to take a reporting and anchoring position with CBS 6. Lately, she reports on Monday nights and anchors the Sunday evening newscasts.
