He later became the Chief Meteorologist with the KEYT-TV(ABC) located in Santa Barbara, California in the month of August 1995. While working in Santa Barbara, he was awarded 2 RTNDA awards for Best Meteorologist, 4 Golden Globes, and 3 AP awards.
In his career, he has also received the AMS Seal of Approval and is well known in the TV meteorology community where he was the best weather graphics person in the nation. Additionally, he was a professional comedian in Denver while he was finishing Meteorology school.
