Steve Campion is an American Multimedia Journalist who was working with the ABC13 News Team from April 2014 to April 2022. There, he was priding himself on the coverage of all aspects from shooting to writing and editing pieces of news. He later left his home state of Florida for a new and bigger challenge located in Houston which is one he is happy to embark on KTRK-TV.

He counts it a privilege to have flown outside the country twice for studies where he has studied in Italy and Belgium. Campion graduated Magna Cum Laude from UF where she was able to attain two degrees in Telecommunication-News and Political Science.

Campion was working with the ABC13 team as a Multimedia Journalist from April 2014 to April 2022. He is leaving the station for public relations with Comcast Houston. After working in Florida, he later returned home and was working as an intern with WTVJ/NBC6 where he was working as an associate producer during her junior summer. Additionally, he also sharpened his writing skills and got a taste for the big market news.
He kick-started his career working with the WCBJ-TV20 News located in Gainesville where he landed his first on-air job. He quickly learned how stories could unfold in unexpected ways. Through his storytelling career, he has been able to all the way to North Central Florida. Among his most interesting stories includes coverage of Pastor Terry Jones who had stirred controversy and international condemnation for burning the Koran.
Later on, he accepted a position with Waterman Broadcasting located in Southwest Florida. Additionally, his storytelling career with the ABC7/NBC2 team stretched all across the Sunshine State. Additionally, he has also covered the area’s largest city, Cape Coral, where he has also covered threatening tropical storms in addition to covering Congressman Trey Radel’s resignation following his cocaine bust.
The fall of 2013 saw him travel to the D.C. courtroom where the politician admitted to buying the drug on city streets. March of 2014 saw him move to be honored as an Associated Press finalist. This was for his stories on dirty water being dumped into the Gulf of Mexico and compliments of water management practices.
Away from work, he enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors. Additionally, he also enjoys checking out the Lone Star State.
