Thompson serves as a Morning Meteorologist at WFXR-TV based in Roanoke, Virginia. While still working at WFXR-TV, she is in charge of helping and collaborating with the Chief Meteorologist during severe weather events. Moreover, she helped launch a weekly WFXR Weather Trivia segment that utilizes Megaphone TV polls and creates a variety of weather content for morning and noon newscasts.
Prior to working at WFXR-TV, she worked at KLST-TV based in San Angelo, Texas where she served as a meteorologist from September 2017 to December 2018. She had previously spent 5 years and 4 months working at Mitchell Endoscopy Center where she served as a medical record clerk from May 2012 to August 2017. While working at Mitchell Endoscopy Center, she was in charge of organizing files and documents throughout the office space. She is also very active in helping around her community including The UNC Coordinator/Aid as an event coordinator/Aid.
