The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored him with Best Newscast, Best Breaking News Report, and Best News Anchor.
Always up for an adventure, he lost a shoe on live television during a snowstorm, took a ride with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and jumped from the side of the Stratosphere Hotel. McCall has anchored hours of live reporting on several breaking news events, including the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol Building and g the San Jose VTA Railyard Mass Shooting.
During the police shooting death of Terence Crutcher he provided live talkbacks for CNN. He was a certified meteorologist for the U.S. Navy during Operation Enduring Freedom before e stepping in front of a camera. From Lamar University he earned his B.A. in Communications and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
