As a teen, he was already finding ways to report news in the valley at Apollo High School in Glendale as a newspaper editor and a youth reporter for The Arizona Republic. After graduating from high school, he joined the Institute of Political Journalism at Georgetown University.
At Brigham Young University, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in print and broadcast journalism, and prior to joining the 12News team, he worked for the Conservative News Service in Washington D.C.
He has reported issues ranging from education funding to capital murder trials. Dana investigated immigration in southern Arizona and polygamy in northern Arizona. When he’s not working, he is an ambassador for the mentoring program, New Pathways for Youth, and a volunteer mentor.
