She spent over a decade as an anchor of “News4 Today” – this role earned her several Emmys. During that time, she was often the 1st to update viewers in the Washington area on bad weather, breaking news, and major local stories.

Murrow Award and an Emmy Award for anchoring the special “Inequality in America: Tackling the Rise in Anti-Asian Hate.” She also received another Emmy Award for hosting “Foodies: DC” (a local restaurant show) – she led this program for several years.
Prior to joining WRC-TV, Yang worked at WUSA-TV in Washington and the National Geographic Channel in Washington. She got her start in broadcast journalism during college – she reported for “Maryland Update” on the university’s cable channel. Later, she became a correspondent for “National Geographic Today”. Although she was offered a job in New York (the country’s top market), she chose to join NBC4 as a reporter instead.
