Brown serves as a meteorologist at CBS 11 based in Dallas, Texas. Prior to working at CBS 11, he worked at WIS-TV where he served as a Chief Meteorologist based in Columbia, South Carolina from June 2017 to April 2022. During his tenure at WIS-TV, he enclosed several catastrophic weather events including Hurricanes Florence and Michael in 2018, Hurricane Dorian in 2019, and Hurricane Irma in 2017. He also tracked numerous storms including the April 13, 2020, deadly tornado outbreak in Orangeburg, SC. Furthermore, he also lead his viewers through the Total Solar Eclipse in August 2017 in Columbia, SC.
From June 2012 to June 2017, he worked at WTKR News 3 where he served as a meteorologist based in Norfolk, Virginia. From January 2008 to June 2012, he worked at WCTI-TV and FOX 8 where he served as a meteorologist based in New Bern, NC. In addition to that, he is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM). Brown is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the Dallas-Fort Worth Urban League Young Professionals
Brown has also won several awards and honors including an Emmy Award and two Emmy nominations in 2019 for enclosing Tropical Storm Florence and the effects of the storms in the Midlands. The South Carolina Broadcasters Association (SCBA) honored Brown, with the 2018 Television Weathercaster of the Year Award of Merit. He also won the first-place award for the 2020 TV Weathercaster of the Year (TV I Division). In addition to that, he is also an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). He is also a member of the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
