Allen has also won several awards and honors including an Edward R. Murrow Award for assisting a desperate North Texas mother in getting a lost cord blood for her sick child. She has also been honored a number of times by the Dallas Bar Association as well as the Grand Prize Stephen Philbin Award. She also got recognized for investing thoroughly in the fire that killed a veteran Dallas Firefighter. In January 2014, she received the Stephen Philbin Award for excellence in legal reporting.
