She went to Texas A&M University where she attained her B.S. degree in Meteorology in 1995. Henderson serves as the Chief Meteorologist and is on air every weekday evening at 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 11 pm at WSPA-TV. In addition to her roles at WSPA-TV, she is also the weather forecast for two area radio stations. She officially kickstarted her journalism career working at a station in Waco, Texas where she served as a weekend meteorologist for 8 months. She later moved on to work at a station in New Orleans where she also served as a meteorologist and weather anchor.

After her tenure in New Orleans, she worked at WVUE-TV where she served as the weekend meteorologist and later on as the 5 pm weekday weather. During her tenure at WVUE-TV, she enclosed Hurricane Danny in 1997 and Hurricane Georges (1998). She left WVUE-TV and started working at a station in Atlanta, Georgia where she served as the morning meteorologist on “Good Day Atlanta” for 3 ½ years. In addition to her role as a meteorologist, she also conducted interviews with several celebrities including Ed McMahon, Kevin Bacon, and The Rock.

Prior to working at WSPA-TV, she worked at WJLA-TV and KTVT where she served as a meteorologist. She is also an active member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. Since she started her journalist career, she has won several awards and honors including Spartanburg’s “Best of the Best” award. She is also a 6-time South Carolina Broadcasters Association Weathercaster of the Year and a 3-time winner of SCBA’s Personality of the Year for 2017, 2016, and 2015.
