Through his work, he has gained Emmy nominations and earned the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. Nonetheless, he began his broadcast meteorology career while serving in Maine in 2000 at NEWS CENTER Maine as a weekend meteorologist.
Till 2007, he held on to the position. Later, he went to serve in Boston for WBZ. Between 2007 and 2014, he served in various positions at WBZ. For instance, he performed both weekday evening and morning tasks. Also, he served as a host of a weekly gardening piece dubbed “Gardening With Gutner.” In the program, he and local gardening experts showed multiple home gardening techniques.
Aside from TV, he was very involved in the community where he visited hundreds of elementary schools. In October 2014, Gutner rejoined NEWS CENTER Maine. In addition, he enjoys donating his time to the community uniquely to serve alongside kids. On a side note, he loves the outdoors and outdoor activities such as gardening, a family hike, or hanging at the beach. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and exploring the seemingly infinite gastronomic options that Maine has to offer.
