Hillis serves KWTV-DT as an anchor of the weekend morning newscast. Also, she serves as a reporter for News 9 at 9 a.m. on weekdays. Additionally, she served in pageants and attained the title of Miss Lawton’s Outstanding Teen 2015 and Miss Lawton 2019. Nonetheless, she began her journalism career when she served OU Nightly as a reporter and later as an anchor.
Further, she served as a host of Sooner Sports Pad, the only nationally televised show on a college campus. Moreover, her story, ‘Pain in the Neck,’ attained the Television Feature News Story for the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association. In addition to that, she gained a Regional Mark of Excellence award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Throughout her stint in college, she served as an intern for a local tv station in Lawton, KSWO. Later, her internship led to an on-air fellowship on the weekends. Also, she served KSL, Salt Lake City as an intern. During her streak there, she flew helicopters, served alongside awarded journalists, and witnessed the world outside Oklahoma.
