Campbell is the general assignment reporter for KGO-TV and is excited to be back on the West Coast. She began her career as a print journalist before establishing her career in the Canadian Prairies, where she made the shift to broadcast news. She is a storyteller driven by a desire to share impactful stories. Previously before coming to Bay Area she worked in Omaha, Nebraska at the NBC affiliate where she served for three years as a reporter.
While in the station Tara helped expose a lack of safe and affordable rental housing, which affected refugee and immigrant communities. This reporting finally resulted in the passing of rental housing, and landlord registry ordinance. Her award-winning coverage was the 2019 historic Midwestern flooding dove deep into the aftermath and shed light on small towns struggling to come back from disaster. Being on the ABC7 team she is committed to continuing to tell stories that make a difference in the Bay Area.
