Second, he has covered immigration surges along the U.S./Mexico border.
Third, he covered the Oklahoma standard in action succeeding Hurricane Michael in 2018 and Hurricane Ida in 2021. Moreover, his on-the-ground broadcast of civil anarchy in downtown Oklahoma City in 2020 assisted in prompting News 9 to a Heartland Emmy Award. In addition to that, his broadcast of people with mental disabilities and environmental matters gained state and national recognition during his time at KGOU Radio.
