Porter attended The Nightingale-Bamford School where she studied between 2011 and 2015 and obtained her High School Diploma. While there, she was privileged to receive the Ana Totti Modern Languages Award for Spanish study (2015). Aside from this, she was a Spectator student newspaper Editor-in-Chief.
After this, she went on to join the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she studied between 2015 and 2019. There, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism- Reporting. She also studied Spanish language during her time in college and is fluent in Spanish.

Porter works for NewsChannel 13 serving the station as a News Anchor and reporter. She states that moving to the Capitol Region was like coming back home as she was raised in New Jersey. Prior to this, she was working for CBS/FOX affiliate station WSAW TV NewsChannel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin Area. There, she served as a Multimedia Journalist/Weekend Anchor and worked between August 2019 and July 2021.
She has also previously worked for WSUM 91.7 FM Madison in Madison, Wisconsin Area. There she undertook different roles between January 2016 and August 2019. She started off as a Reporter before moving to Assistant News Director in January 2017. After this, she went on to serve as a News Director between September 2017 and May 2018.
In January 2018, she added the role of Producer/Anchor for WSUM News Hour on her shoulder a role she undertook till January 2019. After this, she went on to serve the station as a Host for Bascom Beat. She undertook the role between January 2019 and August 2019.
Previously, she has also worked for WMTV NBC 15 where she was serving the station as a Reporting Intern. She undertook this role between May 2018 and August 2018 in the Madison, Wisconsin Area. Her journalism career began when she was working for The Badger Report – Broadcast news class. There, she was serving as a News Anchor and Reporter. She worked for the station at the University of Wisconsin-Madison between September 2017 and December 2017.
Porter was raised in a family of die-hard fans of the Badgers. Away from reporting, she loves musical theater (especially Broadway!), and cooking. In addition to this, she enjoys spending time with her family, and reading about politics and American history. She states that she is excited to be closer to home and living in the beautiful upstate New York.
