Shiri Spear Education
Spear attended Coastal Carolina Community College where she studied Education between 2002 and 2003. After this, she went on to join McGill University where she studied general Geology and Earth Science between 2000 and 2002. After this, she went on to join Rivier University where she studied between 2003 and 2005. There, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics Teacher Education.
After this, she went on to join the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she studied between 2005 and 2007. There, she obtained a Master of Science Degree in Environmental and Atmospheric Science. This is after trading her 7th-grade pre-algebra in order to follow her passion for weather and forecasting. She has, however, previously taught preschool full-time.

Spear works for Boston 25 News serving the station as a Morning Meteorologist. Being a native of New England, she was raised in Hollis, NH. Asides from this, she is no stranger to the challenges of forecasting New England weather. Asides from this, she forecasted and reported on everything from Nor’easters to ice storms to spring flooding and major droughts during her time in the Boston 25 Weather Center.
Prior to joining the WFXT, she was serving the WTVJ/NBC 6 News team in Miami, South Florida serving the station as a Meteorologist. There, she worked between August 2010 and November 2012. Previously, she was also working for WWLP-TV22 News, the NBC affiliate in western Massachusetts. There, she was serving the station as a meteorologist and environmental reporter. She worked for the station between May 2007 and August 2010.
Her studies to become a Meteorologist began at McGill University located in Montreal, Canada. After this, she made a move to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This is where she and her husband were stationed. During her time in North Carolina, her focus turned to education.
Afterward, she and her husband moved to her hometown in New Hampshire when he was deployed there. She stayed true to her New England roots and was forecasting the weather for WWLP-TV22 located in Springfield, Massachusetts where she worked for over three years
Asides from this, she has also sharpened her tropical forecasting skills at WTVJ in Miami between 2010 and 2012. Together with her colleagues, she has been privileged to receive two Emmy nominations for their annual Hurricane Specials.
Asides from this, she was privileged to receive her CBM accreditation from the American Meteorological Society back in the year 2012. Away from work, she enjoys baking and follows her motto which states more chocolate is more delicious.
