Baumgarten is a co-anchors for WGN Morning News from 6 to 10 am. She is a three-time Emmy Award winner. She joined the station as an airborne traffic reporter and transportation reporter. In 2004 after WGN Morning News expanded to 4 hours Robin became the main anchor of WGN Morning News, from 5:30 am to 9 am. Afterward in 2013 after the show expanded again she extended her duties again to cover the 6-10 am hours.
Besides anchoring, Robin enjoys reporting on stories unique to Chicago and the South Side. Previously before joining WGN-TV, she worked at Shadow Broadcast Services in Chicago. While there she worked as a traffic, news, and sports reporter for WLUP Radio’s Jonathon Brandmeier Show. Baumgarten also worked at CLTV News where she served as a traffic reporter and also did freelance work with ABC Sports.
