Kreutz is a Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter for ABC7 KGO-TV since February 2020. She joined the station as a reporter and fill-in anchor before becoming a weekend morning anchor and reporter. Her favorite thing about being a reporter is sharing other people’s stories and using their platform to give a voice to those who need it most. Her family shares their love of journalism, news, of good storytelling, which stuck with her from the youngest age.
Almost three decades later here, she is working her dream job at her dream station in her home state of California. Previously before coming to ABC7 Liz worked at News10 in Sacramento, California Area where she served the station as an Evening Anchor and Multi-Skilled Journalist from May 2017 to May 2019. She was part of a small team of reporters to win a local Emmy Award for outstanding continuing coverage of the California wildfires. Liz also served as the station spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign and on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Press Club, where she co-chaired the scholarship program for aspiring journalists.
Prior to joining News 10, Kreutz worked at ABC News as a political reporter/digital journalist from March 2014 to May 2017. Prior to acquiring that position in the station, she served as an Assignment Editor/Field Producer from October 2013 to March 2015. She joined ABC News as a production coordinator for special events from August 2011 to October 2013. While in the station she covered Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign an assignment of a lifetime that took her all over the country and gave her a front-row seat to one of the wildest campaigns in presidential history.
If Hillary Clinton had won the election, she probably would have moved to Washington, D.C. to continue covering her in the White House. Instead, she took the outcome of the race as a sign to make a move back to the West Coast. During her free time, she enjoys exploring all the food, wineries, and beauty that Northern California has to offer. Kreutz also loves listening to audiobooks, binging shows on Netflix., and traveling.
