Kilmer works as an anchor/reporter at WPXI-TV news. She received two Emmy awards for her live reporting. Later on, she initiated two newscasts produced by WPXI. She anchors weeknights on the Breaking News Desk on Channel 11 News at 4 p.m. with David Johnson for Channel 11 News on FOX 53 at 6:30 p.m. Before joining the station, she worked at WAVY-TV in the Virginia Beach area.
Prior to moving south, she reported within a different region of PA, working for WFMZ-TV in Berks County. There, she had the opportunity to report several high-profile corruption investigations, from an alleged “pay-to-play” scheme among city officials in Reading and Allentown to the indictment of disgraced Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
Kilmer discussed a wrongful death case live before a nationwide audience on HLN in 2014. She started her career at WAND-TV in Central Illinois as a multimedia journalist. Also, she edited and shot her own stories while operating a bureau in Champaign. Her work has been awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Associated Press.
At Ursinus College, she got her first taste of broadcast journalism as a student. There, Kilmer interned at the CBS and FOX affiliates in Philadelphia. In London, she spent a semester interning at a radio station and interviewing British celebrities and politicians.
She graduated with a degree in Media and Communication Studies and an academic minor in English at Phi Beta Kappa. During her part-time, she serves in her other roles: television show binge-consumer, foodie, reluctant runner, and social media junkie.
