Spooner is a morning anchor for NBC2 News Today. Previously she worked for the station as an anchor for the 4 pm and 11 pm newscasts for more than 6 years. She joined NBC2 after hosting the nationally syndicated morning show, The Daily Buzz. While there she had one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest people in Hollywood such as Jennifer Connelly, Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, and Jared Leto.
Lisa was in charge of covering the news every morning on a national level. While there she covered major national breaking news for the three-hour show, like the Boston Marathon bombings and the explosion in West, Texas. She started her career in television as a primary anchor at a station in the Houston area.
Afterward, Spooner moved to Tyler, Texas, at CBS 19 Eyewitness News where she started anchoring their Primetime 5 newscasts. She was then quickly promoted to add the 6, 6:30, and 10 pm newscasts as well as adding the title of Managing Editor to her duties. After working for several years on the evening shift, she decided to give the morning show a whirl. She then decided to move on after spending more than five years in East Texas.
Lisa is not a stranger to Southwest Florida. After leaving the Lone Star State she anchored the morning show for Fox 4. While growing she spent a decade of her childhood overseas. Spooner won the title of Miss Texas in 2002 and competed for that fall on the nationally televised Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City. During that pageant, she won a preliminary interview award and was named a Top Ten Finalist.
