Galer is a weekday news anchor for NBC 2 News the Waterman Broadcasting team. The award-winning journalist worked in Las Vegas prior to moving to Southwest Florida. She is two times Emmy-nominated for her tenacious reporting. Kyla was awarded an Emmy for a two-part series investigating why school buses in the country’s fifth-largest school district are constantly late picking up students.
Kyla began her career in Colorado Springs. While there she reported on devastating wildfires that ripped through the southern part of the state and the booming marijuana industry. The Colorado Broadcasters Association recognized her investigation into police response times. At a young age Galer passion for journalism began whereby she presented the morning announcements in middle and high school in a suburb outside of Boston, MA. The passion continued through college where she directed and produced a student-run newscast at UMass Amherst.
Galer is excited to be back on the east coast near the ocean and a little closer to the family after spending the last five years in the mountains and the desert. She is looking forward to exploring Southwest Florida beaches and working on her golf game.
