On joining NBC5 in January 2015, she started off by serving as the wewkwnd morning and midday ancho0r as well as a reporter. On this role, she also served as breaking news anchor focused on national and international news during weekday show. It was here that she was nominated for an Emmy Award for “Best News Anchor.”
Prior to joining NBC5, she worked at KOCO-TV based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she served as a morning news anchor and reporter. While there, she increased weekend morning show ratings by double digits. She had previously spent 4 years and 7 months working at Lockwood Broadcast Group based in Denison, Texas where she served as a morning and midday anchor as well as a reporter.
From October 2004 to April 2005, she interned at Communities Foundation of Texas. She also interned at Belo Corporation in July 2004. She is also very active when it comes to volunteering in her community. For instance, she volunteered at SMU Young Board from May 2009 to January 2014. She went to Southern Methodist Universit where she attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Journalism in 2006.
