Cameron Cox is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor and reporter working for 12News as a sports anchor/reporter. He joined the station in November 2014.

Cox works for 12 News as a sports anchor/reporter. He graduated from Atascocita High School in Humble before enrolling at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, where he was a student-athlete (football). Besides anchoring and reporting, he hosts Friday Night Fever and 12Sports Tonight.

He worked for WOAI-TV in San Antonio, Texas for two years as a sports reporter and anchor before joining the station. There, he reported, High School sports, MLB, NFL playoffs, Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony, Cowboys games, College Football (Longhorns, Aggies, UTSA), Texans, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, two NBA Finals, the Spurs’ championship parade, and the NBA All-Star game.

Cox started his broadcasting career at KNOE-TV in Monroe, Louisiana as the weekend sports anchor reporting Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Grambling, LSU, and the Saints. While majoring in Broadcast Journalism, he worked as a full-time lead sports anchor and play-by-play broadcaster for KENW and KSEL.

He was the voice of the Portales Rams and the host of Portales’ first sports talk radio show “Game On!” During his free time, he enjoys collecting movies, trying to improve his golf game, watching sports (shocking), working out, spending time with his family, reading history books, and doing anything outdoors.
