Hanna Battah is an American Anchor/Reporter working for KDFW in Dallas, Texas, in the United States as a Morning News Anchor and reporter. She joined the station in June 2018. Prior to coming to Texas, she worked in Bakersfield, California at KBAK/ KBFX as an afternoon Anchor and evening Reporter.

Battah is a Morning News Anchor for KDFW Fox 4’s Good Day newscasts from 4 to 6 am with Shannon Murray and a reporter. She also works more in-depth on a different story every day, reporting for Good Day from 6 to 10 a.m. She began working at Fox 4 as a weekend morning anchor on the Good Day team and after 3 months, she became part of the weekday Good Day team.
Hanna says she always felt passionate about current events and politics, therefore she enrolled at the University to study broadcast journalism and political science. She quickly learned that reporting allowed her to cover many topics in my wide range of interests. Most importantly, it encouraged her to never stop learning.
Before coming to Texas, Hanna worked as an afternoon Anchor and evening Reporter at KBAK/ KBFX in Bakersfield, California. Her job often involved many different roles each day, like producing newscasts, shooting videos,s and editing her own stories. while there she covered local politics, breaking news, and statewide stories.
In the year 2017, Battah traveled to Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to cover what became the largest wildfire in state history. While there she worked alongside fire crews in full gear to get first-hand glimpses of the flames. She has covered several previous brush and wildfires but had never witnessed the devastation caused by the inferno that burned for months along the coast.
Prior to moving to the central valley of California, Battah began working in news in Missouri. However, she did not start on television. She covered state politics in Jefferson City for radio outlets in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield. She also enjoyed chasing down lawmakers for assignments and learning from the veteran Reporters who consistently pushed her to dig deeper into stories.
While in college, she worked for MUTV the campus television station for a short time where she covered sports. Her first story was about the Mizzou volleyball team featuring the newest players. She didn’t know it at the time therefore she put the story together, but one of the teammates she covered became her best friend later.
Afterward, Hanna worked as the general assignment Reporter and Anchor for the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Mo. She continued covering occasional stories out of the state Capitol and went on to work on a few projects across the state such as the 2015 World Series, the recovery process following the devastating Joplin tornado in 2011, and former President Obama’s visit to Kansas City.
Battah managed to win the Heart of America Gold Award from the Kansas City Press Club because of the reports she worked on about the city’s rebuilding after the deadly event. She is an avid swimmer and runner therefore she is looking forward to enjoying the outdoors year-round in Texas. She is also eager to be surrounded by Cowboys fans. As a Minnesota native and Vikings fan, they can bond off a mutual dislike for the Green Bay Packers.
