Gannon is a weekday sports anchor and reporter for KDFW Fox 4. She serves alongside an established journalist like Mike Doocy. Before becoming a journalist she swam competitively her entire life. She then decided to quit swimming and felt a huge void she needed to fill. That’s why she decided to get into journalism. Samantha wanted to live vicariously through other athletes and be able to help tell their stories.
Samantha’s first on-air break began when she moved to Lake Charles, LA to be the weekend sports anchor at KPLC-TV in 2011. Making a jump-start for her broadcasting career. It was life-changing for her to gain experience. She then moved to OKC (aka Oklahoma City) to work at KOKH-TV FOX 25 as the weekend sports Anchor and Reporter. For her, that was her REAL introduction to what big-time college football was like. Covering two major D1 programs in Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. They then had the Oklahoma City Thunder.
