Johnson serves as the Chief Meteorologist at WBTW-TV based in Florence, South Carolina. Before working at WBTW-TV, he worked at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he served as a meteorologist from September 2000 to December 2006. In this role, he prepared and delivered weather forecasts for the noon and morning shows.
Previously, from July 1998 to September 2000 he worked at KVII-TV based in Amarillo, Texas where he served as a weekend and noon and 5 pm three days/week meteorologist. He had previously spent 1 year and 5 months working at KBMT-TV where he served as a morning meteorologist and reporter from March 1997 to July 1998.
Prior to working at KBMT-TV, he worked at KREX-TV based in Grand Junction, Colorado where he served as a chief meteorologist and was on air for the 5:30 and 10 pm weather forecasts Monday through Friday. He previously worked at AccuWeather, where he served as a meteorologist from June 1993 to June 1996. During his tenure at AccuWeather, he monitored and forecasted weather for transportation, utility, business, Radio, TV, and Education.
