Further, she began serving on TV succeeding her stint as a weekend radio news anchor at WDAK for two years while still attending Columbus High School.
Later, she served in South Bend, Indiana at WSBT-TV for two years. After time in Indiana, she joined Columbus and became one of the members of one of the highest-rated teams ever in the city, at WTVM, then dubbed Action Nine News. Swiftly, she went from weekend anchor to her current position as the main anchor. Consistently, she was rated a top anchor in the city for more than 3 decades.
Moreover, she became the first person to host a daytime talk program in this market, The Dee Armstrong Show. Additionally, she hosted guests such as Former President Trump, Danny Glover, Kandi Burris, and the NCIS team to list a few. Armstrong was apprehended for simple battery family violence following a squabble she had with her son on a Friday morning. According to Armstrong, she observed her son, whom she believes is an atheist, viewing motivational videos. She went on to voice, “Whatever you are searching for, the answer is God.” To which he replied,” It’s 4 o’clock in the morning, you need to leave.”
She did not leave the room. In a police report, she stated that her son grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her against the wall in the bedroom. Additionally, she called the police to take him out of the home.
According to her son’s testimony, he told his mother to keep her beliefs to herself. Reportedly, she got mad and punched him in the left side cheek and eye region. Armstrong appeared in Recorder’s Court on Saturday, March 17 2018 at 9 a.m.
