Prior to working at WBZ-TV, he worked at Newsradio 1030AM, WBZ’s sister station based in Boston, Massachusetts where he served as a radio sports talk show host; anchor, reporter, and Boston Bruins game host. He had previously spent some time working at WRKO Radio and WHDH where he served as the host of Boston Red Sox pre-game and post-game programming. He kickstarted his journalism career working at WCCM/WCGY radio in Lawrence, Massachusetts where he served as a sports anchor and host.
Since he started his journalism career, he has covered a ton of sports events including the Pats’ perfect 16-0 regular-season finale in New York against the Giants in 2007. He also covered the Patriots Super Bowl in 1996, the ’04 and ’07 Red Sox World Series Championships, and the death of Ted Williams. Dan covered the Cryogenics case, the Celtics 17th World Championship ride through Cleveland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Detroit. Moreover, he made numerous trips to the White House to report alongside the Celtics and the Red Sox. He also covered the Bruins Championship parade walking the entire route and the Bruins ran to their 2011 Stanley Cup title.
Dan has won several awards and honors including a New England Emmy Award for his series, “Red Sox This Week.” He also received two Emmy nominations for Best Sports Reporter in New England. He is also an active volunteer in his community and is part of several charity organizations including The American Lung Association. He is also part of the Jimmy Fund, The Lazarus House, and The Boys & Girls Club both of Lawrence, The BoSox Club, and the “Lowell Spinners.”
