Collins works for WEEK-TV serving the station as a Chief Meteorologist and began his career working for 3,000-watt FM. He states that that was his first paid broadcast job and has been on air since then. When she was growing up as a child in Marquette Heights, he stated that he loved watching the weather and dreamed of being on Peoria radio and TV and his dreams came out to be true.
Chuck has been the Chief meteorologist for 25 News since the month of October 2009. This was after he made a jump from WMBD where I worked for 23 years. In addition to this, he has been in local radio and TV for 46 years and started her weather career in the year 1988. In the course of his weather broadcasting career, he has been privileged to receive seals of approval from the American Meteorological Society(AMS) and the National Weather Association(NWA).
Additionally, he is a member of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association and the Screen Actors Guild. This is in addition to being a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Collins has been fortunate enough to be a multiple winner of the Illinois Broadcaster’s Association “Silver Dome” award for best downstate television weather.
