Alvarez is a sports anchor and reporter for KGO-TV. He is thrilled to return to San Francisco after working in Palm Springs and Fresno. After dropping the baseball cleats, he started his Television career at KMPH-TV in Fresno.  After graduating from Fresno State, Chris headed to San Francisco where he served at Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. While there he covered the athletes, Bay Area’s biggest sporting events, produced features, and hosted web videos. Chris then moved to the Southern California desert in Palm Springs where he worked at KESQ (ABC) and CBS Local 2 as the Sports Director.

After working in Palm Springs, he returned back home to Fresno, where he joined their sister station KFSN-TV. For 4 years, Alvarez worked as Sports Director, Sports Anchor/Reporter, and Fill-In News Anchor. While in the station he covered Fresno State Basketball’s NCAA berth in 2016 along with two World Series, the 2017 MLB All-Star Game, and Fresno State Football’s historic turnaround. During his free time, Chris enjoys spending sharpening his DJ skills, working out, listening to music, and looking to explore all the Bay Area has to offer.
