She kick-started her career working with the KPNX-TV located in Phoenix where she is working behind the scenes and where she quickly worked her way to an on-air position. Edsitty has been able to cover stories from serial shootings to snowstorms. Additionally, she has been able to cover major breaking news stories coming out of Arizona. In addition, she also writes, edits, and shoots all her stories as she enjoys working both in front and behind the camera.
While working at the station’s northern Arizona bureau in Flagstaff, she was in the middle of some of the state’s largest snowstorms and wildfires. Additionally, she also provided some leading coverage of the deadly campus shooting at the Northern Arizona University and also covered the murder of American humanitarian Kayla Mueller by ISIS. In addition, while at Phoenix, she dug into documents surrounding the deadly “serial street shooter” and also broke several major developments in an ongoing sexual assault investigation involving a prominent high school football team.
She is a proud member of the Navajo Nation, which is one of the largest Native American tribes in the country. Edsitty also happened to shine a light on the many overlooked issues affecting tribal communities which include a piece that is focused on missing and murdering Indigenous women. In addition, she is a proud member of the Native American Journalists Association and is also happy to be back in the great state of Texas.
