From 1982 to 1985, he served in Bismarck as a weekend sports anchor, weekday sports reporter, and sports photographer. Five times, his peers have voted him the Utah Sportscaster of the year in 2008, 2006, 2004, 2002, and 1998. Also, thrice, the Utah Section PGA dubbed him the Bill Howard Golf Citizen of the year in 2017, 2006, and 200.
Moreover, he secured multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2016, he got inducted into the Nebo School District Sports Hall of Fame. Frequently, he serves as a speaker and an MC for several charities and golf happenings. On a side note, he loves biking, golf, water skiing, and crossword puzzles.
