He states that his passion for the weather began at an early age when he was about five years old. Tucker states that he began issuing forecasts to his kindergarten class. By the time he was in his teenage years, he was immersed in his favorite subject and offering highly accurate, long-range forecasts to his high school class.
Barnes is a proud graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He, later on, completed his graduate work at the University of Maryland, College park. His proudest moment and achievements, however, at FOC 5 DC, was covering Hurricane Irene in Ocean City(in the seafoam), the Derecho of 2012, and the winter of Snowmaggedeon. Away from work, he loves nature, gardening, football, animals, the weather, and making fun of Steeler fans.
