Lewis is a news anchor and reporter for FOX 5. She joined FOX 5 after working for more than four years at FOX 32 News in Chicago, Illinois as a reporter and fill-in anchor. While at FOX 32, Tisha covered breaking news including the 2012 Presidential Election, the front lines of NATO, and a historic Chicago Teachers Union Strike. Previously before joining FOX 32, Tisha worked at the FOX affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana where she served as an anchor and reporter.
While at FOX 32 Tisha covered stories that made national headlines including Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ take on 2010, the Indianapolis Colts’ road to Super Bowl XLIV, and a deadly teen bullying case. Her four years working at WTVJ, the NBC station in Miami, was the catalyst for her passion to tell a good story. While in Miami, she covered the inauguration of President Barack Obama, conflicts in Haiti and Cuba, including the transition of power in Cuba when leader Fidel Castro fell ill; the 2008 presidential campaign, Anna Nicole Smith’s death, and hurricane season.
Lewis started her journalism career in New York, in 2002 where she worked behind the scenes at Fox News Channel on At Large with Geraldo Rivera and The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby. After two years, she moved to Bakersfield, California where she served at KGET, the NBC affiliate as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Tisha got her first taste of television as a “Posse Member” at 14 years old on Black Entertainment Television’s talk show Teen Summit based in Washington, D.C. She appeared at BET in Kaiser Permanente’s national “Rap-It-Up” public service announcement which focused on HIV and AIDS awareness. After more than a decade of reporting and anchoring across the country, Lewis is excited to be home and currently resides in northern Virginia.
