Butler serves FOX 54 News as an evening news anchor. He joined the FOX 54 News team in April 2022. Further, he is an Emmy-awarded journalist with over 3 decades of broadcast experience. Additionally, he served Augusta’s ABC affiliate as an intern while he was still a sophomore. After he completed his graduation, he secured an employed with the affiliate and served as its weekend sports anchor.

From2006 to 2010, he served as an anchor for the station’s evening newscasts. Furthermore, he has served as a news anchor in Fort Myers, Florida, Greenville, South Carolina, and Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to FOX 54, he served in Huntsville Alabama at the NBC affiliate, WAFF-TV as an anchor. Throughout his 11 years in Florida, he reported on multiple hurricanes, counting two that hit Southwest Florida directly in 2004 and 2005.

To boot, he reported live from the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia and the World Series in Cleveland. Also, the readers of the “News-Press” in Fort Myers nominated him “Best News Anchor.” However, some of his fondest memories from Augusta include broadcasting the Masters and serving as a co-host of the Children’s Miracle Network telethon.

In addition, he was honored to work under Augusta legend sports anchor, Stan Byrdy, who’s the author of 3 books that concentrate on the ample history surrounding The Masters. Else, he reported live from the Democratic Presidential Debates at South Carolina State University. During his tenure in Greenville, South Carolina, politics became a big focus. Further, he profiled all the candidates for South Carolina governor.

Moreover, he reported live from the Republican Presidential debates in Greenville. Butler served as a co-anchor of a newscast at Greenville’s FOX affiliate that was honored as the best newscast by the Associated Press. While serving as co-anchor with the CBS affiliate in Birmingham, he was a member of the news team that secured an Alabama Broadcasters Association award for the station’s election broadcast in November of 2014.

Nevertheless, his most taxing assignment was when he reported live from a fatal workplace shooting at UPS in Birmingham. Additionally, he served as a reporter from his car when he and thousands of other drivers were trapped throughout a winter blast in 2014. Later, he made it into the station and was part of the team that supplied various hours of continuous live broadcasts of the storm that nearly shut down Birmingham.

During his tenure in Huntsville, he served as an anchor on the morning and noon newscasts for the NBC affiliate. Also, he served as a producer of the station’s Crime Stoppers series and reported on the impacts of coal ash contamination on a community’s water supply.
