Previously before joining FOX 5 Tom worked at News 12 Networks from 1996 to 2002 where he served as a reporter and anchor. Prior to that, he worked at TV34 News as a reporter from January 1990 to January 1996.
Tom’s interest in broadcasting came while he was in the second grade. When they took a school trip to a local radio station. The DJ told them he’d open up the microphone in the studio and the kids could call out the name of whatever record he was going to play. The idea of being able to reach people and tell them things over the air just fascinated him. Being an elementary and high school student, Fitz was always interested in current events so even at a young age he was plotting to follow a career in the news business.
