Lokay is the main anchor for FOX 5 at 5, and 10 p.m. and the Show host of FOX 5 LION at 7 p.m. and The Finals 5 at 11:30 p.m. Previously before joining FOX 5 he worked at WCVB-TV in the Greater Boston Area where he served the station as an anchor and reporter from October 2011 to November 2015. While in the station he Co-anchored the weekend editions of NewsCenter 5’s top-rated “EyeOpener” morning newscasts, and reports for the weekday editions. He also served as part of the station’s sports department, anchoring sportscasts and filing sports-related news items.
Jim was also the Field anchor for major events and breaking news, including the Newtown school shooting, Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, the 2012 Republican primary, the Boston Marathon bombing, the World Series, the AFC Championship, and many other events. Prior to moving to Boston, Lokay worked as a reporter and anchor at KDKA-TV in Greater Pittsburgh Area from August 2005 to October 2011. While in the station he was hired as the station’s first traffic and transportation reporter, delivering live, in-studio traffic reports during the morning newscasts, then filing relevant news stories for later broadcasts. He then segued into a broader general assignment role, then took over the popular and highly-rated consumer reporting franchise.
While in the station he became the first Pittsburgh journalist (and one of the earlier adopters in local news) to integrate Twitter and Facebook into daily news coverage, well before the station adopted a presence of its own. He also Co-hosted pre-game programming for Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates broadcasts, the annual Children’s Hospital telethon, and KDKA’s New Year’s Eve special. Prior to KDKA-TV he also served as an anchor and digital journalist at News 10 Now (YNN)/Time Warner Cable in Syracuse, New York Area from August 2003 to August 2005. He was hired as part of the initial launch team of a new, 24-hour news channel serving nearly 500,000 homes across upstate New York. He came to News 10 after working at Metro Networks in Pittsburgh as a News Anchor and Editor from June 2002 and September 2003.
