Tim Blotz is an American journalist who is working for KMSP-TV, FOX 9 as an anchor and a reporter. Further, he anchors the early primetime newscasts from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on FOX 9 and FOX 9+. He joined the FOX 9 team in January 2004.

In his quarter century with the station, he launched the initial transportation coverage beat in the Twin Cities. Moreover, he broadcasted from the State Capitol preceding the station’s political broadcast in recent years. His peers have acknowledged his professional work with four Emmy Awards for best news anchor and with the Edward R. Murrow award for writing.

After attaining his master’s degree in strategic communication, he has utilized it in aiding some of the non-profits he volunteers with in order to gain a better stakeholder realization and brand messaging. Due to his kids being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, Blotz has a passion for working in the company of his family to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

As a result of that, he and his wife have been actively involved over the years in JDRF. To boot, in 2012 JDRD acclaimed him with an award for public service. Aside from this, he has done thorough work with the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance by broadcasting on its pioneering  “Unmasking Brain Injuries” project.

Nationwide, many people have decorated and painted masks that tell the stories of their individual brain injuries that people normally would not notice. Further, he annually hosts both the organization’s Walk for Thought and the Strides for Stroke Walk.
