Moreover, in January 2021, Greenberg received the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for “creat(ing) a 360 view in real time of the coronavirus pandemic, with courageous and thorough reporting on the virus’s explosion in New York City.” Greenberg’s reporting was a crucial part of NBC 4 New York’s award-winning COVID-19 coverage.
The duPont Award, given by Columbia University as well, is widely acknowledged as the Pulitzer Prize of the broadcast, documentary, and online worlds. Since 2003, Ted has been a member of the NBCUniversal family. While also earning a criminal justice degree at Richard Stockton College in New Jersey (now Stockton University), he previously worked at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City. He began his career in broadcast journalism when he was still a high school student after being employed at WMGM.
Ted reported and served as an anchor for WROC in Rochester, New York, and WTIC in Hartford/New Haven, Connecticut after working for WMGM for almost six years. Ted received two Boston/New England Emmy awards for news writing and an Associated Press award for excellence in broadcast journalism for his remarkable work as a journalist while working at WTIC. In 2002, Ted briefly served as the news director and 6 p.m. co-anchor at WMGM. Ted likes to spend time with his family, especially at the beach and boardwalk, when he’s not reporting. He is an advocate for early screenings and a colon cancer survivor. Together with his wife and their three daughters, Ted resides close to Atlantic City.
