Shay Ryan is an American Meteorologist working for WFTS in Tampa, Florida, in the United States as a meteorologist. She joined the station in August 2012. Before joining the station she worked for WNYW-TV as a meteorologist from July 2010 to July 2012.

Ryan is a meteorologist for WFTS-TV ABC Action News. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the AMS seal of approval. She worked as a weather anchor for Fox 5 News in New York City and Fox News Channel. During her time as a meteorologist in New York, Michigan, Georgia, and Mississippi Shay got extensive experience covering severe storms, record flooding, and heat waves.
While in Savannah, Shay covered Hurricane Floyd and took part in the largest peacetime evacuation in U.S. history. While staying at the Emergency Management Shelter for 36 hours, she reported on key safety updates and tracked the storm’s path.
Apart from being a self-proclaimed “weather geek,” during her free time she enjoys the outdoors with her children and husband. She loves the water and every activity on it or in it. She also loves to paint, cook, and is a home improvement enthusiast. Shay is excited to be back in Florida, where she was raised, and looks forward to raising her children here in the Bay area.
