Previously before joining WAVE 3 she worked at WFOR/CBS 4 in Miami serving as a primary anchor. Shannon also anchored the morning show for KTVT/CBS 11 in Dallas. While there she contributed stories about former Dallas Cowboys players for a show hosted by Troy Aikman and Babe Laufenberg.
Shannon also worked in Orlando, Fla., at WESH-TV, the NBC affiliate covering the Columbia space shuttle disaster and the 2000 presidential election. From 1994 to 1998 Cogan served as a morning anchor at WLKY-TV in Louisville. She also worked in Terre Haute, Ind at WTWO-TV, the NBC affiliate. She serves on the board of Heuser Hearing & Language Academy and also on the board of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Louisville, which WAVE News was instrumental in bringing to the Louisville area. This program gets free books in the hands of kids from birth through the age of five, every single month.
Cogan also contributes to events for the American Heart Association, the Speed Museum, and Norton Children’s Hospital. During her free time, she enjoys being in one of the area parks along with her twin boys and her son Colt’s service dog named Wink from Canine Companions for Independence.
