Before he was employed at a Television station, he worked for radio stations in Kansas and Minnesota. He goes to the historic United Methodist Church on Capitol Hill. Ford covered entirely everything from the White House to Crack house within a span of 40 years he spent in the nation’s capital. At WJLA he majorly dealt with the District Columbia Government, life, and crime.
His main area of interest is history mainly Black history. He is tracing his ancestors who were taken as captives by American Indians in Oklahoma. He is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a voter too. His dad’s forefathers are said to have come from the place that is called Nigeria today which he learned from the new methods of tracing roots by use of DNA and he has traveled to Nigeria twice to ascertain all this truth.
He has been married to Gloria Murry Ford who is a journalist and media specialist for a period of 40 years till her demise in 2021. They are blessed by a son Murry Ford, a hospital Vice president in Atlanta, Georgia, and Gina Ford who is a strategic communications Director in Maryland. Ford comes from Kansas and at the same time, and he graduated from the University of Kansas William Allen White Journalism School and also the University of Minnesota.
