DiMattei works with CBS 3 Philly in Philadelphia where he serves the station as a News Reporter. Prior to joining the CBS 3 News team, he was working with KNTC/13 Action News. There, he was serving the station as an Anchor and Reporter for more than 2 years.
In the course of his career, he is most proud of his interview with then-presidential candidate Joe Biden and extensive reporting on Las Vegas’ economic recovery from Covid 19. He is also proud of breaking news coverage of George Floyd protests in Las Vegas. He received a Regional Emmy Award for his report on the George Floyd case.
Prior to making a move to Las Vegas, he was working as a reporter and anchor for WZVN-TV in Fort Myers, Florida. There, he covered major natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma. Asides from this, he also covered the harmful algal blooms that wreaked havoc along the Gulf Coast. This is in addition to reporting extensively on education including the fallout from the Parkland school shooting. He kick-started his career working for WENY-TV in Elmira New York.
There, he was privileged to win Associated Press Awards for his regular on “Good Morning Twin Tiers.” He also received the award for his continuous coverage of the 3rd and 4th Cal Harris murder trials. This story made headlines. His reporting on the trials later featured on the network shows”20/20 and Dateline.”
Ross grew up near Boston but has long considered Philadelphia home. He graduated from Temple in 2014, where he studied journalism and hosted a sports talk show on Temple’s student-run radio station, WHIP. DiMattei also worked at KYW Newsradio as a desk assistant and service aide.
