Patrick Rockey is an American Chief Meteorologist working for WTRK in Norfolk, Virginia as a Chief meteorologist every weekday on News 3. She joined the station in 2003.

Patrick Rockey Education
Rockey graduated from Denbigh High School. From there he joined Christopher Newport University (named Christopher Newport College at the time) where he graduated with a degree in English/journalism. He served as editor of the school newspapers at both Denbigh High School and Christopher Newport. Furthermore, he then earned a master’s degree in communications-Radio/TV from Murray State University in Kentucky. In addition, he was awarded his meteorology training through Mississippi State University and he holds a seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Patrick Rockey Career
Rockey is a meteorologist at WTKR, he began his weather interest when he was 7 years old on a camping trip to Lake Gaston. In June 1972 his whole family was spending the week in a pop-up camper. A terrible rainstorm came and made the trip a muddy mess. The remnants of Hurricane Agnes dumped flooding rains in parts of Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. Rockey previously worked at WYFF-TV as a meteorologist and reporter from December 1994 to December 2002.
Before working at WYFF-TV, he worked as a reporter at WPSD Local 6 in Paducah, KY, from January 1993 to December 1994. The Agnes Hurrican is still considered the worst natural disaster to hit some communities. From that moment, Rockey became fascinated by thunderstorms, hurricanes, and snow storms. To date, he considers the Blizzard of 1980 on Hampton Roads his favorite weather memory. Rockey is honored with two Southern regional Emmy awards, along with numerous awards from the Associated Press.
