Before that, Medina spent over 5 years (April 2019 – June 2024) as a freelance News Anchor and Reporter for CBS News an KCAL News in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to her freelance work, she was a full-time News Anchor at CBS 8/CW for nearly 18 years (March 2001 – December 2018) in San Diego, CA.
Earlier in her career, Medina gained experience as a Noon and Morning Anchor at KGPE-TV in Fresno, CA (August 1997 – July 2000). She also worked as a Weekend Anchor, Reporter, and Producer at KGNS-TV in Laredo, Texas (November 1995 – August 1997).
While at CBS News, Medina reported on major stories for national and local audiences. During her time with NBC 7, she has earned 11 Emmy Awards for her outstanding work as a reprter and anchor in America’s Finest City.
