He is no stranger to the Midwest & Ohio Valley weather patterns and for over a decade he was the Chief Meteorologist at WSBT-TV in South Bend, IN. Prior to that, he worked at WSIL-TV, serving much of Western Kentucky.
In the year 2021, Matt left full-time TV Meteorology to pursue his passion in aviation and now works at United Airlines where he helps determine which of United’s thousands of aircraft go to what airports each day. He was able to oversee United Airlines’ flight schedule for Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
While Rudkin’s full-time job is within the aviation industry, he continues to be very active in the meteorology world. He began his own digital/online weather business a few years ago and has over 150,000 followers on social media. He even developed his own weather app and also hosts a weekly science education segment that is used by dozens of teachers in the community on his social media platforms.
Matt has earned the “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist” seal of approval, from the American Meteorological Society which is the highest distinction given to a broadcast meteorologist.
