Prior to coming to the Lone Star State, Matt worked at KXAN’s sister-station in Charlotte, North Carolina, FOX 46 as an investigative reporter. While there, his reporting launched several state and federal investigations; changed federal law; uncovered problems with the US Census Bureau’s background check process when he found a registered child sex offender was hired to manage the Carolina region; sparked Congressional inquiries into the Federal Air Marshal Service and Census and a hearing on military medical malpractice.

Grant’s investigation into fraudulent diplomas was awarded first place in education reporting by RTDNAC. Before joining FOX 46, he worked at WESH in Orlando, Fla., FOX 4 in Ft. Myers, Fla., and KRCG in Columbia, Mo as an investigative and general assignment reporter. His hard-hitting investigations have uncovered corruption and wrongdoing and sparked change across Florida.

While in Orlando, Matt covered hurricanes and the Pulse nightclub massacre. His two-year investigation into the opioid crisis led to a Florida Board of Pharmacy rule change. He began his career in broadcast journalism at News 12 The Bronx as an assignment desk manager. While in Marist college, he worked for the Marist Poll and served as an intern at WNBC with the political and consumer news units.

Grant is a proud member of Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE), a non-profit organization dedicated to investigative journalism. He is also a proud supporter of the Special Olympics. During his free time, he enjoys traveling and being out on the water, and reading.
