Dalton Huey is an American Producer/Reporter working for KXAN Austin, Texas, United States as an Investigative Producer and Digital Reporter. He joined the station in July 2021. He previously worked as the Director of Investigations for Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving the Heart of Texas.

Huey is an Investigative Producer and Digital Reporter for KXAN News. He moved to Austin in 2010. He started his investigative career where he worked for a multi-disciplinary forensic investigations firm where he assisted in the crime scene reconstruction of the Fort Hood mass shooting. Later he went on to work as a criminal defense investigator conducting death penalty mitigation investigations in capital cases.
Dalton made the transition into the news in 2015when he became an investigative producer for KVUE News. That opportunity allowed him to apply his skills and experience towards investigative journalism, which ultimately led to him to receive two Texas Associated Press Broadcaster awards as well as a Lone Star Emmy award for his work as an investigative producer.
Before moving to KXAN’s investigative team and making his return to the newsroom, Huey worked for the Better Business Bureau as the Director of Investigations. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, working in his shop, and fishing.
